Discussions have been held with CALA Group Ltd to address the issue of STAS Certificates issued under now superceded Technical Handbooks. STAS Certification is a supporting information process when assessing building warrants. It is recognised that even if some standards have been changed since the issue of a STAS Certificate, it can still be used as evidence of compliance under a later building warrant application. However, the developer and the verifier should carry out checks on the scope of any previously issued STAS Certificate to confirm its relevance in respect of later changes to the Technical Handbooks.

To this end, LABSS have agreed the undernoted documents which should be submitted by CALA whenever this situation arises with new building warrant submissions.
